Emergency light testing is the periodical testing of all emergency lights in the building to ensure that they will fully function in case of an emergency.

 

It is an important part of fire risk assessment because health and safety legislation require that all commercial and public premises must have emergency lights installed and maintained in good working condition to enable safe evacuation in the event of fire / power failures.

 

Like fire alarm testing, emergency lights tend to be a "Fit and Forget" product that can lose efficiency over time.

So testing it on a regular basis is very important to ensure that will work when most needed and to abide with the fire precautions (workplace) Regulations 1997.

 

 Our FIA certified engineers design, install and maintained emergency light system in accordance with BS 5266-1 for full three hours to confirm their functionality.
